WORLD CUP PREDICTION FROM START TO FINISH

WORLD CUP PREDICTION

We are few weeks away from kick off of the much anticipated World Cup in Russia chiefly now that club football season has  ended. The Premier League, Europa League, Champions league and the rest is now over. We football lovers are enthusiastically waiting for the tournament to begin. We want to see our favourite players represent their countries even though some of them some did not make the final shortlist. Some of those players includes the likes of  Morata, Icardi, Martial, Lacazete, Herrera, Marcos Alonso and most surprisingly Sane. Personally, and as a Manutd fan, I am disillusioned Herrera and Martial didn’t make it to Russia. I also felt heartbroken, because given the form of  Marcos Alonso of Chelsea, yet he wasn’t picked while Monreal of Arsenal was on the plane to Russia. However, the coach of  Spain knows better than me; who am I to challenge his team selection.

Let’s go straight to the business of  what I  know how to do. I  have given numerous correct and perfect predictions of  Champions League, Premier League and Europa League in the past. We have now turned our attention to Russia 2018 World Cup.
I will take my prediction from group stage to the final. We will also drop our prediction on each match day.

Group A
Russia
Saudi Arabia
Egypt
Uruguay

I am tipping Russia and Uruguay to qualify from this group. To the Egyptians am sorry to predict that Egypt won’t make it out of the group stage. I know they have Salah who is currently injured but a tree cannot make a forest.

Group B
Portugal
Spain
Morocco
Iran

This is perhaps the easiest group to predict teams to qualify. Devoid of  any atom doubt Spain and Portugal will make to the group stage with ease. Therefore, am backing Spain to top the group.

Group C
France
Australia
Peru
Denmark

This is a typical group of death. However, am tipping France to top the group followed by Peru.

Group D
Argentina
Iceland
Croatia
Iceland

This is another complicated group. Argentina will surely top the group. The rest will surely give a go at second place, but my instinct is telling to pick Croatia because of the caliber of players they have and the experience they got at big level. They have Rakitic and Modric who have played at the highest level of the game at the heart of their midfield.

Group E
Brazil
Switzerland
Costa Rica
Serbia

With Neymar up and running and the Samba boys coordinated as a team I think they will go far as reaching final probably be champions. They got the resources to achieve this feat: to win it. They have on the best strike force and defense as well.
With ease they top Group E followed by Xhakiri led Switzerland.

Group F
Germany
Mexico
Sweden
Korea Rep.

Germany is the strongest team in this group; the rest are on almost equal level as far as am concern. But FIFA rules states that only two teams will qualify from a group. (lol). I am having this feeling that the team to join the Germans to round of 16 is…. Guess who, ………….Mexicans. They have a fighting spirit. It will fascinating to watch Rafael Marquez play in his fifth (only one of few players to do that) FIFA World Cup.

Group G
Belgium
Panama
Tunisia
England

Both England and Belgium will qualify but my problem is predicting who will come out on top. But due to the crop of talented players and the attacking style of play I will tip Belgium to top the group.

Group H
Poland
Senegal
Colombia
Japan

For me this is the deadliest group where anyone can qualify. However it is only two must scale through, on this note I am picking Colombia and Poland with the former taking first position.

Round of 16

Spain - Russia 1B v 2A (Match 49)
France – Croatia 1C v 2D (Match 50)
Uruguay - Portugal1A v 2B (Match 51)
Argentina - Peru 1D V 2C (Match 52)
Brazil – Mexico 1EV 2F (Match 53)
 Belgium – Poland I G V 2H (Match 54)
Germany – Switzerland 1F V 2E (Match 55)
Colombia - England 1H V 2G (Match 56)

Quarter Final

Spain – France (Match 57)
Brazil – Belgium (Match 58)
Germany - England (Match 60)
Portugal – Argentina (Match 59)

Semi Final

Brazil – Spain (Match 61)
Argentina – Germany (Match 62)

Third-Place Play Off

Argentina-Spain (Winner Spain)

Final

Brazil – Germany (Winner Brazil)
