Did Wizkid Actually Wrote The Lyrics Of Brown Skin Girl

The much-anticipated album “The Lion King: The Gift”, was released in the early hours of 19 July  2019 with Star Boy, Wizkid featured on the track titled ‘Brown Skin Girl’.

The collaboration between American singer, Beyoncé and one of Nigeria's finest singer, Wizkid got Nigerians talking on both social and mass media, and has earned Starboy lot of praises.

‘Brown Skin Girl’ also features Beyoncé’s daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, who led the introduction of the song with Saint Jhn in a lovely blend that sets listeners on course from the first sound.

‘Brown Skin Girl’ talks about an African girl child, telling her she is beautiful and the best with her skin.

[Verse 1: Wizkid]
She said she really grew up poor like me
Don’t believe in nothin’ but the almighty
Just a likkle jeans and a pure white tee
She never did forever be nobody wifey, yeah
So while I may not pretty boy, your heart is amiss
Play it like a villain ’cause she caught in a wave
Tonight iii I am walkin’ away
Light up my mind, on the grind, yeah, yeah

When you carefully listen to the song or read the lyrics to the song, one may ask if Wizkid actually wrote his verse of the song. He didn't use pidgin, Yoruba or even Nigerian accent. He didn't even used his Nigerian afro beat style.

The song is cool. No filter, no auto tune or effect.
The rhythm has an acapella flow.

Other Nigerians that featured on the album maintained their usual pattern.  The likes of Tekno, Mr Eazi, Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage and Burna Boy used their usual Nigerian beat and style of singing.

But all in all, the song has got great lyrics and message.
