Nigerian singer and Johnny crooner Yemi Alade has reportedly signed a licencing deal with Universal Music Group.
UMG recordings is an American Global music corporation, a subsidiary of French Media Conglomerate, Vivendi.
The deal was reportedly signed through her record label Effyzzie Music Group.
Yemi Alade is widely regarded as one of the best female African musicians of her generation. She recently featured on Beyonce’s album - Lion King.
She came to limelight in 2009 when she won Peak Talent Show, and then released her first single “fimisile”.
In 2013, she cemented her status as the Afrop-pop queen with her hit single “Johnny”, which topped the charts in many African countries
