Many people especially the fans of Cristiano Ronaldo are of the opinion that Leo Messi is not the greatest of all-time. They claimed that before he can be regarded as such, he should win an international trophy 🏆. A claimed which I personally think its ignorance 🤷♂️ or voluntary negligence.
First of all, Messi did won a title for his country. The under-20 World Cup. Yes it’s a junior competition, but it’s an international trophy 🏆.
The Barcelona Magnificio also won Olympic medal 🥉 with Argentina in 2008.
At that point Messi without any assistance carried Argentina to 1 World Cup final and 2 Copa America finals with an incredibly feeble side.
But in club football Messi has won everything. Yes absolutely everything.
10 LaLiga, 6 Copa del Rey, 9 Spanish supercups, 4 UCL’s, 3 FIFA Club World cups and 3 UEFA supercups.
Individually Messi is definitely the greatest of all-time. He has won numerous trophies. Most Ballon d’or, most Pichichi awards, most European Golden boot and countless others.
Some of his records are almost unbreakable. For example the record of 91 goals he scored in one year for club and country will stay on for years.
Messi may not be the most successful athlete with his national team but if that's the only criteria you need to choose the GOAT then both Giroud and Mertesacker 😂 are better than him.
Try to find someone who can at the same time score goals by dribbling multiple defender, who can score free kicks regularly, who can be the top scorer and top assister of a league in the same season, who can make a disappointing team look world class…
Messi is the GOAT, individually, he’s done things that look impossible.
