Have you ever imagined that one could be so wealthy 🧐 to the extent of owning thousands of luxurious gold customised cars and a group of companies? We are talking about the Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Mercedes Benz etc. These are cars that worth millions of dollars.

We present to you Hassanal Bolkiah the current and 29th Sultan and Yang di-Pertuan of Brunei 🇧🇳.



According to Forbes reports in 2008, Hassanal Bolkiah is one of the wealthiest men in world 🗺 with an estimated total peak net worth at US$20 billion. After Queen Elizabeth II, the sultan is the world's second longest-reigning current monarch.



Hassanal Bolkiah has been the Head of State of Brunei Darussalam after the abdication of his father in 1967. Under Brunei's 1959 constitution, the sultan is the head of state with full executive authority, including emergency powers since 1962. In the year 2006, the constitution was tweaked by Hassanal in order to make himself infallible under Bruneian law.



It would also interest you to know that as a Prime Minister, Hassanal holds the office of defence and finance minister which has allowed him to amass a net worth of $20 billion USD, making him the second richest royal in the world after King of Thailand, Maha Vajiralongkorn. He reportedly paid the late pop legend US$17 million to perform on his 50th birthday celebration.



The sultan once owned one of the largest private car collections in the world with about 2,500 cars worth over $5 Billion USD. Hassanal reportedly purchased over 2000 cars, including more than 600 Rolls-Royces, 550 Mercedes Benzes and 450 Ferraris. The 74-year-old politician extravagant lifestyle cannot be over emphasized, he reportedly spent millions dollars shopping 🛒 in London and also treated himself to $350 million palace after his country gained independence in 1984.










However, due to troubles and financial crisis most of the non-garaged were left abandoned while other were put up for sale.

The Sultan of Brunei owns his own private Boeing 747-400, Boeing 767-200 and Airbus A340-200. According to bornrich.com: The Sultan’s private jet Boeing 747-400 is no less than a palace itself. A living room, a bed room with details of gold and precious gold in the jet could only belong to a Sultan. The jet is also equipped with all the modern facilities and has a separate remote control desk.






Hassanal Bolkiah has 12 children from three wives though he divorced two of them (second and third wife) in 2003 and 2010 respectively. He is the uncle to former Leicester City player, Faiq Bolkiah.



When you talk about extravagant lifestyle without Hassanal Bolkiah then you are not talking. Some may call it vanity upon vanity or corruption. But According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Brunei is ranked fifth in the world by gross domestic product per capita at purchasing power parity. The IMF estimated in 2011 that Brunei was one of two countries (the other being Libya) with a public debt at 0% of the national GDP.
