Why Chelsea Players And Staff Should Boycott Remaining Premier League Fixtures

Roman Abramovich has been an untouchable billionaire free to bankroll Chelsea's unprecedented success for almost two decades, but that changed on Thursday morning. The U.K. government announced sanctions against seven Russian oligarchs with what it believes are close ties to Russian President Vladimir Putin's murderous regime, with the move following two weeks of intense pressure to act amid the country's ongoing invasion of Ukraine.

But it's seems Abrahamovich'Chelsea is suffering the most. It is as if the football club is being targeted and not the man himself. Believe me, the players and staff will suffer the most in this kind of situation.

So therefore, I think Chelsea players and staff should boycott the remaining fixtures as long as no lasting solution is found immediately. No club in the world can survive under the conditions Chelsea are being subjected to right now.

There is no point fighting a lost battle. This isn't a sanction against Russia, it's probably a conspiracy against Chelsea. If truly it is in support of Ukraine, then everyone at Chelsea like the rest of the world should not be made to suffer as two wrongs don't make a right. Instead, just disband the club and don't put people's futures and livelihoods in serious doubts.

If the UK government is righteous enough to sanction Chelsea, if 3 UK telecommunications company is righteous enough to terminate its contract with Chelsea and Nike is also righteous to terminate their contract too, then don't you think nobody outside the Russian oligarchs should have anything to do with Chelsea? Don't you think the current Chelsea fans and players should also stop working for Chelsea in support of Ukraine? Does that not mean Chelsea should just be closed down since it belongs to the Russians?

Or is the battle between team Chelsea and Russia versus team Ukraine and the rest of the world?

But we all know it doesn't work out that way as nobody really owns a football club, the said owners are just temporary custodians and any sanction against them will hit the fans who are the closest thing to a legitimate owner more than anyone else. When the war ends and Abrahamovic leaves, what will now happen to Chelsea, their fans and staff as well as the community it serves?
Even when we are crying on the road, we shouldn't forget to open our eyes.

Summary of sanctions on Chelsea due to Abramovich sanctions:

No more merchandise sales

No new transfers in or out

✅ Salaries will be paid
✅ Season tickets still valid as already sold

Chelsea sponsors Three have temporarily suspended their sponsorship, including removing the logo from the team shirt, following the sanctions dished out to owner Roman Abramovich.
