The Premier League title race has once again gone down the wire. Man City lead the League title chase with 90 points, a point ahead of Liverpool. They will play Aston Villa, whereas Liverpool will lock horns against Wolves on the final day of this tiring season. A win for Man City will earn them their eighth league title. For Liverpool, their fate doesn't rest in their hands.
Man City will be playing against a team managed by the finest player Liverpool produced, Steven Gerrard. Former Liverpool players Philippe Coutinho and Danny Ings will also turn up for Villa. Liverpool would hope that their friends from Villa win it for them.
Gerrard's team beating City and helping Liverpool to win the PL (and thereby complete the domestic treble) would be a perfect way for Gerrard to kill the ghosts of that infamous slip against Chelsea at Anfield that cost Liverpool the league title in 2014. Coutinho was also a part of that Liverpool squad and later left the club on not-so-good-terms in 2017. Imagine Coutinho scoring the winner against City and celebrating it with Gerrard. It would be a fairytale way to redeem themselves.
Liverpool wouldn’t be optimistic as Villa have lost all of the last ten away games against City scoring 4 and conceding 34. However, with the extra motivation for Villa, there’s always a possibility of a victory!
There can be a twist in the tale. Aston Villa have a clause in Jack Grealish's deal that could land them £15 million if City wins the league. The clause could see Villa players concede the game meekly if the Villa owners interfere (for whom money matters the most).
Nonetheless, it'll be an exciting end to the season from a neutral point of view.
So my question 🙋 is Aston Villa Have A Clause in Jack Grealish's Deal That Could Land Them £15 million if City Wins The league, If You Were Aston Villa What Would You Do?
