Special Assistant to former President Goodluck Jonathan, and FreeLeahSharibu convener, Reno Omokri has shared a word of advice for single women that have joined the bandwagon to sing the trending song ''Carry me dey go my husband house''.
Using his official social media account he wrote;
''Dear single women, You sing ‘Carry me dey do my husband house’. Yet, you have no job, or business, or skills. And your family have prepared a wicked list of what any potential husband must buy and pay. Your lifestyle and culture are working against your prayers!''
You will recall that video capturing women in an undisclosed church singing to God to get them married and take them to their husband’s house went viral.
Despite the recent reports of violence in some home, the quest to get married, especially amongst the women at a younger age, remain high. It is often backed by family as well as societal pressures.
Reno may not be far from the truth, the rate at which parents and kinsmen inflate the bride 👰 price and other requirements for traditional marriage rite is alarming. Some charge goods worth more a million.
