Done Deal: Inter Milan Re-sign Lukaku on Loan, With No Buy-back Option
According to The Athletic, Chelsea and Inter Milan have reached an agreement in principle for striker Romelu Lukaku to return to the Italian club on a season-long loan.
Inter will pay an initial fee of €8 million plus add-ons, and terms regarding the 29-year-salary old's and performance bonuses have also been agreed upon.
Lukaku is expected to have a medical next week before returning to the club he helped win the Serie A title with in the 2020-21 season.
Inter will not have the option or obligation to purchase Lukaku following his loan spell.
The transfer paperwork is being finalized, with the relationship between Chelsea's new co-owner Todd Boehly and Michael Yormark — president of Roc Nation, who represents Lukaku — proving critical to the deal going through.
Lukaku's contract at Stamford Bridge expires in 2026.
