Heartbroken Man Commits Suicide After His Girlfriend Marries Another Man
Ibrahim Adamu Mohd, 42, committed suicide by hanging at Kanti quarters in Jigawa State's Kazaure Local Government Area after his girlfriend married another man.
According to reports, residents of Kanti awoke on Sunday, June 12, to find a man dangling from a tree with a rope around his neck.
The deceased is an indigene of Gayawa village in Ungogo LGA of Kano State, according to DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam of the Jigawa State Police Command, who confirmed the incident on Monday.
Mr. Ibrahim, he claimed, committed suicide by hanging himself along Daura Road, adjacent to the Baushe filling station in Kazaure town, at an unfinished building.
According to the PPRO, the deceased's possessions included a wedding invitation card and two SIM cards.
The police spokesperson told Premium Times that the invitation card belonged to the girlfriend.
He stated that the man's family confirmed that he committed suicide because he was heartbroken after his girlfriend married another man.
Adam stated that the deceased traveled from Kano to commit suicide in the area, which is why his body was not immediately identified by residents who discovered it dangling from a tree.
The deceased's body has been deposited at a mortuary in the Kazaure council area.
