Kano Pillars Chairman, Alhaji Surajo Yahaya Jambul Turned Mike Tyson as He Punched Assistant Referee (Video)
The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) witnessed yet another violent and humiliating display on the football field.
Yusuf Maigoro scored the home team's first goal in an NPFL match between Kano Pillars and Dakkada in the 22nd minute.
After Dakkada FC scored a late equalizer, Kano Pillars Chairman Alhaji Surajo Yahaya Jambul was seen approaching the touchline to punch the Assistant Referee.
After consulting with the Assistant Referee who was punched, the goal was later chalked off.
This is the latest instance of violence in the NPFL, as referees were beaten just a few months ago.
In May, a center referee was assaulted by an MFM fan during a game against Enugu Rangers that ended in a draw.
