Karim Benzema continued his incredible form as he scored a stunning goal against Denmark in the UEFA Nations League match, dribbling past three defenders.
With that goal, he has now scored 50 times this season. It was also his 37th goal for France and his 10th since returning to the national team. It was his sixth goal in five appearances for France. Nobody comes close to winning the Ballon d'Or more than Benzema. Unbelievable performance at both the club and international levels!!
Nonetheless, France suffered a shocking 2–1 defeat. Denmark demonstrated that their SF run in the Euros 2020 was no fluke.
The game was always going to be interesting because both teams would meet in the group stages of the World Cup in Doha, Qatar. In 2018, the teams also competed in a group stage game in Russia. Before their World Cup showdown in November, they would meet again in the return leg in September in Copenhagen.
If Denmark continues to beat France by November, they may well win their group, forcing France to play Argentina in the round of 16, a rematch of their match at the same stage in Russia in 2018!!
Time will be interesting!
