More than a six-week break

The 2022-23 season has been rescheduled to accommodate the 2022 World Cup, which will be held in the middle of the domestic calendar.

It begins a week earlier than usual, 75 days after the end of the 2021-22 campaign, and concludes a week later, on May 28.

Fifa, the world football governing body, has already mandated that players be released for the World Cup on November 14th.

This means that the mid-season break will be longer than six weeks.
