In an interview with host Ebuka on the BlackBox Show on Bounce Radio Live, Davido stated that his rivalry with Wizkid began when the latter saw him as a competitor.
Davido explained his long-standing rivalry with fellow Nigerian superstar Wizkid in a raw and uncut interview filled with emotions and "real" talk.
Although his beef with Wizkid may be based on misunderstandings and ego battles, the main reason for their rivalry, according to the Afrobeat artiste born David Adedeji Adeleke, is because he unexpectedly became Wizkid's toughest competition in the game.
While describing his rise, Davido mentioned that he and Wizkid met at a party hosted by his father.
They later met at clubs and had a great time together when he (Davido) left Atlanta, USA, and sneaked his way to Nigeria to pursue his music dream without his father's knowledge.
To prove that he had a cordial relationship with the Starboy back then, he correctly stated that Wizkid appeared in his DamiDuro video- the song that catapulted him to fame eight years ago.
Adedeji Adeleke, the son of a Nigerian business magnate, stated that he has never had a problem with Wizkid and has tried several times to get them to collaborate and even tour together, but to no avail.
Nonetheless, in 2018, the two greatest Nigerian artistes performed together at Davido's 30 Billion Concert in Nigeria, in one of the most memorable moments in Nigerian music.
David admitted that even after that performance, he and Wizkid still have disagreements because subliminal shots have been fired both ways since then.
