Assistant Inspector General Wounded, His Police Guard Killed As Suspected Terrorists Ambush Police Convoy in Bauchi

Gunmen suspected to be terrorists have attacked the convoy of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 12 with Headquarters in Bauchi, Audu Madaki, injured him and killed one of his police guards.

 

It was gathered that the AIG was on his way to Abuja from Bauchi State when the suspected terrorists ambushed and attacked him.

The attack was said to have occurred on Tuesday, August 2 between the Barde and Jagindi areas of Bauchi at around 2.30pm.

According to a source at Zone 12 headquarters, Madaki was shot at and injured during the attack, while his orderly was killed.

The AIG is said to be receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital, and security around the Zone has been increased.

According to another source, armed police officers were dispatched to the area to comb the bush for terrorists.
