Manutd Glazer family Owners Put Up 49% Stake Of The Club For Sale

After preliminary talks with investors, the Glazer family is reportedly ready to sell a minority stake in Manchester United.

After failing to significantly strengthen the squad since Erik ten Hag's appointment, the billionaire American brothers Joel, Bryan, and Avram Glazer have come under increasing pressure from supporters to sell the club.

Eight players have left the club this summer, and a 25% pay cut has taken effect as a result of United's failure to qualify for the Champions League.

However, the club's net spending this summer has been just £50 million, with United signing Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen, and Tyrell Malacia.

On the first weekend of the season, supporters demonstrated outside Old Trafford before Ten Hag's team was defeated by Brighton.

Another protest is planned for Liverpool's visit to Old Trafford next Monday, with some fans attempting to 'empty' the stadium.

According to a new Bloomberg report published on Wednesday, August 17, the Glazers are willing to give in to fan pressure but are not ready to relinquish complete control.

According to the report, the brothers are willing to sell a minority stake, which would imply selling up to 49% of the club, and with the club valued at £5 billion, they could raise approximately £2.4 billion.

The Glazer family has saddled United with current debts of around £500 million, and they have taken nearly £1.5 billion out of the club since their takeover in 2005.
